Egyptian Revival Scarab and Snake Brooch
Egyptian Revival Scarab and Snake Brooch in silver (tests silver), the central scarab stone is ceramic and fired with blue glaze which is typical of the techniques used in the 1920’s. The scarab is set in the middle of silver wings with intertwining serpents. The winged scarab is symbolism of Egyptian rebirth and renewal. The securing pin at the back is also silver to the rear of the scarab has hieroglyphs etched. The brooch measures 2.5 inches/6.5cm x 0.8 inches/ 2 cm.
