Edwardian Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Gypsy Ring

£975.00

A handsome Edwardian Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Gypsy Ring crafted in rich 18ct yellow gold, centred with a beautiful natural Ceylon sapphire framed by two Edwardian old cut diamonds. The sapphire is securely grain set, with the diamonds similarly set into tapering shoulders, giving the ring the clean appearance that made gypsy rings so popular during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. The Ceylon natural sapphire displays an attractive vivid royal blue hue, perfectly complemented by the bright diamonds. The diamonds are H in colour and VS2 clarity. The diamonds are 0.12cts each and the sapphire is approximately 0.20ct. The shank is a particular feature of the ring, with a finely engraved band and fluted shoulders that taper into the band. This crisp linear engraving adds both texture and elegance. Inside the band has a European cartouche makers mark as well as an 18ct stamp and B&H makers mark. The ring can be resized.
