Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Cluster Ring

£2,990.00

Stunning Late Georgian Rose Cut Diamond Cluster Ring handcrafted in 15ct light rose gold with a silver-topped setting, showcasing a magnificent collection of natural rose cut diamonds. Dating to the late Georgian period, circa 1810–1830, the ring is centred with a substantial oval rose cut diamond, surrounded by a cluster of individually hand-cut rose diamonds. The central 0.75cts diamond is surrounded by 8 rose cut diamonds totalling to 0.5cts. Designed long before the advent of modern brilliant cuts, these historic diamonds were intended to catch and reflect candlelight, creating the soft, romantic sparkle so admired in Georgian jewellery. The silver-topped mount enhances the brightness of the diamonds, while the warm 15ct gold carved gallery and shank provide the beautiful contrast. The head of the ring measures 10 x 13mm. The elegant hand-pierced shoulders and traditional closed-back settings further demonstrate the meticulous techniques employed by early nineteenth-century jewellers. What makes this ring particularly special is its remarkably original condition. Surviving examples retaining their original setting, gallery and period character are becoming increasingly difficult to find, making this an exceptional piece for the collector of early antique jewellery. Elegant, historic and wonderfully wearable, this is a rare opportunity to own an authentic Georgian diamond ring that has retained its original beauty for more than two centuries. This ring can be resized. Please contact us if you would like to know more about this gorgeous ring or visit us at Saddingtons Jewellery, Mayfair.
